Eagle River is a small town within a larger city. Although Eagle River is considered to be part of the Anchorage Municipality, the town itself is about 11 miles north of Anchorage City. Eagle River is home to about 22,000 residents (2000 U.S. Census). Eagle River offers amenities for another 8,000 people that live in outlying towns and villages such as Chugiak, Birchwood, Peters Creek, Eklutna and Thunderbirds Fall. Eagle River’s winter temperatures range from 0-20 degrees. In summer, temperatures typically run from 50-70 degrees farenheit. Eagle River has beautiful summers with long days.
